Yoga Therapy

Tight shoulders… tension in your chest… heaviness throughout your body…

Your body is telling you something!

Our bodies carry part of our stories.

The story of growing up and feeling like you were never good enough – that shame is stored in your body.

And that time that you felt so sad but didn’t feel like you were allowed to let it out and cry… your body is holding that.

Or the time that you ran yourself ragged, didn’t stop for six months straight, and lived off caffeine and adrenaline… your body is still recovering from that.

Our bodies are talking to us, but we’re often too busy to listen.

We push aside their cues and expect them to keep going, day in and day out.

The cues of…

Your heart racing.
And your body aching.
And the constant caffeine to keep you from admitting your exhaustion.
And your stomach is hurting.
And your irritability or agitation.

But it’s fine, right?

The result?

Our minds are constantly racing…

We don’t sleep well…

We constantly crave stillness…

And when we live this way, we start to break down. Thankfully, though, we can do something about it.

At The Sparrows Collective, we believe in holistic healing.

You are not just a mind.

You are not just a heart.

You are not just a body.

You are not just a soul.

You are all these things, and each part requires something different to feel more aligned and cared for.

That’s why we offer weekly yoga sessions with a therapist.

There are times when words aren’t enough, and we need to access more of ourselves. We can do that through yoga. Yoga is an incredible tool for regaining a sense of connection to your body and learning to slow down and become more present.

These small groups, led by Cara Leeney, LPC-A and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), offer you the space and time you need to reconnect with your body, find stillness within, and regain a sense of your wholeness.

You don’t need to be a yogi to be a part of this space. This is a come-as-you-are-with-what-you-have kind of thing.

Besides, the actual yoga isn’t really the point. It’s the invitation to reconnect and listen to your body and breathe.

Don’t live in that fog any longer.

You can have a better relationship and connection to your body, and you do not have to go through life constantly holding the stress and heaviness.

Classes are hosted at The Sparrows Collective office in downtown San Marcos.
